Kevin M. O'Keefe has been in Information Technology for more than 28 years. His intrigue with computer systems, networks, & security led him to working as a computer technician for Babson College's computer center back in 1990, while attending the college as an undergrad. After graduating Babson College (Class of '92) with a double major in Information Technology & Finance, he was hired by a public health research & consulting firm as a computer programmer. He then went on to gain additional experience as a Unix Programmer (ERP software) and Network Administrator, and from there, went on to work as a consultant before venturing out on his own to start Beacon Network Technologies ("Beacon"). Along the way, he has obtained certifications and extensive experience on multiple OS platforms, network designs, & security solutions, and has continued to develop a specialized skill set. On multiple occasions, he has been asked by Oracle to lend assistance in troubleshooting issues pertaining to their software environments at client sites (hospitality industry). Today, as a Managed Service Provider (MSP), he proactively manages the day-to-day IT operations for many businesses across the country, utilizing his real-world experience to benefit companies without them needing to hire a full-time, in-house IT staff. By incorporating a support strategy that includes a secured, cloud-based network operations center, he is successfully able to efficiently, effectively, and proactively manage & support all workstations, servers & network devices, and continues to grow his operations and client base.
